A while ago I was talking to a friend, and he was telling me some things he was learning on the subject of Astronomy. He was talking at great length about stars and planets, solar systems and galaxies. Although it was very interesting, most of what he said went right over my head ;). One thing really stuck out to me:
‘In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth.’
– Genesis 1:1 –
How great our God must be to have created such a vast expanse with intricate detail and balance.
Also, I was reminded of a few of verses from Psalm 139.
‘For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, When as of yet there were none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake You are still with me.’
– Psalm 139:13-18 –
The very same God who spoke the universe into being is the very same God Who formed your inward parts, Who covered you in your mother’s womb, Who made you in secret and skillfully created you, Whose eyes saw you being yet unformed, and Who knew all your days as of yet there were none of them.
God Knows your name. He knows your personality, your strengths, and your weaknesses. He knows your sitting down and your rising up. There is not a word on your tongue that God is not aware of. He has and will protect you from behind and before you. ( Psalm 139 :1-5 Paraphrased)
You are precious in the sight of the God of the universe. He is your Father and you are His Child.
